On the Summer Solstice, Cân y Coed Rainforest Symphony was birthed into being by Environmental Sound Artist & Composer, Cheryl Beer, at The National Botanic Garden of Wales. A year in the making, Cheryl has been working in 5 rainforest enclaves in a unique & innovative way. Here, in her launch presentation, she tells us how she repurposed hearing aid technology & sensitive biomedical sound equipment to collate digital & visual readings from the vascular systems beneath the bark of the rainforests, took these to her studio & composed a Symphony where every note, phrase, rest, is led by the rainforests themselves!

Cheryl introduces us to the trees she collaborated with & explains what we can expect from the Symphony experience when we visit it online or at one of the tour venues. Cân y Coed Rainforest Symphony is an Unlimited Main Commission funded by the Arts Council of Wales.

Yn ystod Heuldro'r Haf, daeth Symffoni'r Coedwigoedd Glaw, Cân y Coed ‒ gwaith yr Artist Sain Amgylcheddol a'r Cyfansoddwr, Cheryl Beer ‒ i fodolaeth yng Ngardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru. Ers blwyddyn, mae Cheryl wedi bod yn gweithio mewn ffordd unigryw ac arloesol mewn 5 clofan o goedwig law. Wrth gyflwyno’i lansiad yma, mae'n esbonio sut yr aeth ati i ailbwrpasu technoleg teclynnau clyw ac offer sain biofeddygol sensitif i goladu darlleniadau digidol a gweledol o'r systemau fasgwlaidd dan risgl y coedwigoedd glaw. Yna aeth â'r rhain i'w stiwdio a chyfansoddodd Symffoni lle mae pob nodyn, cymal a churiad gwag yn cael eu harwain gan y coedwigoedd glaw eu hun!

Mae Cheryl yn ein cyflwyno i'r coed y bu'n cydweithio â nhw, ac mae'n esbonio beth i’w ddisgwyl wrth brofi’r Symffoni pan fyddwn yn ei chyrchu ar-lein neu yn un o leoliadau'r daith. Mae Symffoni'r Coedwigoedd Glaw, Cân y Coed, yn Gomisiwn Unlimited Main a ariennir gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru.
