Cheryl is the Founder & Creative Director of Sound Memories Radio, a dementia friendly Environmental Sound Mapping & Life Story Project. During the pandemic, she has helped older people to stay connected with a sense of place by creating 'Walk 19 Cerdded' recording nature narratives of their favourite walks, combining both life story & environmental sound- She achieved this by connecting with Dementia Care Homes across South & South West Wales via Zoom & Social Media, supported by The Arts Council of Wales National Lottery Good Causes. Cheryl also works in partnership, for insitance. with People Speak Up as Project Co-ordinator & Lead Artist for 2 exciting pilot ventures. 'Creative Companions' matching vulnerable older people with creative volunteers and 'Square Stories' inspiring young people to create a digital media resource pack for Llanelli primary schools. Cheryl has also recorded a storytelling resource with her award winning children's stories at The Sleeping Storyteller, to help with emotional well being.
