SAIN SYNHWYRAIDD |
SENSORY SOUND |
Mae'r nodau, cymalau, tawnodau ac ati yn y Symffoni wedi cael eu trawsnodi o gywair y dirgryniadau dargludol sydd y tu mewn i'r coed a'r planhigion, gan fesur dŵr wrth iddo godi o'r gwreiddyn i'r brig ar hyd y tiwbiau sylem a ffloem. Yn ogystal â’r Comisiwn, mae Cheryl wedi bod yn ymchwilio i ffyrdd o alluogi cynulleidfa i brofi biorhythmau'r goedwig law trwy'r synhwyrau eraill, heblaw am y clyw. Mae'r fideo canlynol yn crynhoi’r gwaith hwn, ac fe’i cyflwynir yn Saesneg, gyda thrawsgrifiad Cymraeg a throsiad BSL.

The notes, phrases, rests etc within the Symphony have been transposed from the pitch of the conductive vibrations within the trees & plants, measuring water as it travels from root to tip along the xylem & phloem tubes. Alongside Cheryl's Commission, she has been researching ways that enable audience to experience the rainforest biorhythms through senses other than hearing. The following video summarises her work in progress, presented in Spoken Word English, with Welsh language transcription & BSL translation.

'Trwy fy ngwaith ymchwil a datblygu Sain Synhwyraidd, rwy'n cynnig
casgliad o syniadau creadigol y gall pobl arbrofi â nhw yn eu cartref, gan alluogi'r gynulleidfa i ehangu eu mynediad wrth iddynt brofi sain drwy'r holl synhwyrau.' - Cheryl Beer |
' Through my Sensory Sound research & development, I am offering a collection of creative ideas for people to try themselves, enabling audience an opportunity to expand access by experiencing sound through a wider range of senses.'

Experiencing Sound through Movement & ColourAfter consulting with Ruth Fabby MBE at Disability Arts Cymru, Deaf mentor Jonny Cotsen & Kaz Jefferies at Llanelli Deaf Centre, Cheryl explored Sensory Sound further with Dance Artist & Embodiment Coach, Fiona Winter. She has also created a tester film, capturing the music as droplets of coloured water. Her work in progress can be seen in the videos, below.
