The Mushroom Trail
I thought I’d found a pixie
Underneath the spotted red
Wondered, might I come for tea?
But found an ant instead
‘Good day,’ I said politely
But the ant, he couldn’t stay
& then I spied the mushroom trail
So, went upon my way
Who knows ...
P'raps I'll meet a pixie
On some other Autumn day.

Y Llwybr Madarch
Credais i mi weled coblyn
O dan y smotiog cochliw
Gofynnais gawn i ddod i de,
Ond na! – morgrugyn ydyw
‘Dydd da!,’ meddwn innau'n gwrtais
Ond y morgrugyn aeth i ffwrdd
Felly edmygais y llwybr madarch
A chrwydro o gwmpas ar hwrdd
Efallai rhyw ddiwrnod o Hydref braf
Caf innau a choblyn gwrdd.

RSPB MUSHROOM TRAILI remember, as a child, reading and being inspired by Enid Blyton poetry & the beautiful illustrations of Amanita mushrooms, but I had never seen one in the flesh, so, to find that the rainforest at RSPB Coed Garth Gell is filled, not just with these red capped marvels, but a whole host of incredible funghi, really lifted my heart, so much so, that I made a Fungi postcard to send to folk on Facebook.
Sat on the rainforest floor, I penned my own Blyton-esque poem (see above), humming it to a tune in my head & when I got home to my studio, I edited a video short, in the style of Poetic Documentary, where the film maker allows the sound & image to tell the emotion of the story or experience, without words or music. So, I share with you here, all 3 of these creations – the poem as written & spoken word, the photograph of the first mushroom that inspired & the poetic documentary to share the emotion. It is up to you whether to listen to them separately, or all at once, to listen & read, or watch only. I hope you enjoy them. For daily updates of my work, why not come and add me as a friend on facebook. You’ll be most welcome. |
Pan oeddwn yn blentyn, rwy'n cofio darllen a chael fy ysbrydoli gan gerddi Enid Blyton, ynghyd â'r darluniau hardd o fadarch Amanita, ond doedden i erioed wedi gweld un go iawn o’r rhain. Felly cododd fy nghalon wrth ddarganfod bod coedwig law Coed Garth Gell yn llawn o'r rhyfeddodau capiau coch hyn, ynghyd â llu o ffyngau anhygoel eraill. Ac yn sgil hyn, rydw i creu cerdyn post Ffyngau i'w anfon at bobl ar Facebook.
Eisteddais ar lawr y goedwig law i ysgrifennu fy ngherdd yn arddull Blyton, a'i hymian fel alaw yn fy mhen nes i mi gyrraedd adref. Yn fy stiwdio, golygais fideo byr, yn null Rhaglen Ddogfen Farddonol, lle mae'r gwneuthurwr ffilmiau yn gadael i'r sain a'r delweddau adrodd emosiwn y stori neu brofiad, heb eiriau na cherddoriaeth. Felly dwi'n rhannu cyfuniad o'r creadigaethau hyn gyda chi yma – y gerdd ar ffurf y gair llafar ac ysgrifenedig, cyfieithiad o'r gerdd i'r Gymraeg, llun y fadarchen gyntaf a'm hysbrydolodd, a'r fideo dogfennol barddonol, fel y gallaf rannu'r emosiwn gyda chi. Gallwch naill ai wrando arnynt ar wahân neu ar y cyfan ar unwaith, a gwrando a darllen neu wylio'n unig. Pa ffurf bynnag y dewiswch, gobeithio byddwch yn eu mwynhau. I gael diweddariadau dyddiol ar fy ngwaith, beth am fy ychwanegu fel ffrind ar Facebook. Mae croeso mawr i chi. |
