Having notated High Tide for tenor recorder, Cheryl wondered what it might sound like orchestrated for strings. It felt important to create work that she could access herself, and so she commissioned Double Bass Player, Mike Bede to play the short composition on double bass, as this would be in her hearing range. 

Cheryl's vision is to spend a longer residency notating the tides, collaborating with a composer to orchestrate a symphonic poem from the notated marine biorhythms.
