Welcome, you have chosen Womanhood as an area upon which you would like to meditate. There are usually 3 reasons why we are drawn a certain mantra:-
1. Because we feel we are lacking or have struggles with this area of our life. For instance, perhaps you would like support with your menopause, or your periods have become irregular. Maybe you are struggling with your femininity or feel so wrapped up in being a Mother, Wife, Sister, Partner that your own sense of Self as a woman has gotten put on the back burner.
2. Because we are sublimely happy with this part of our life & would like more of it. If this is the case, be mindful of all the things that you are happy with, in regard to your womanhood & think on how you might bring that joy into the other aspects of your life to enhance it.
3. And lastly, because we have too much of this in our life & it is causing issues. For instance, perhaps you are constantly in an all female environment, which although you love, has led to you missing male company. Or perhaps your life has become dominated by someone else's view of what womanhood is & you find this overwhelming. If this is the case, step back & be sure to make changes to live your life in the ways in which you view yourself.
When you register for a SVARA Reiki Mantra Course, you will find that the chant for Womanhood is Om Chandra Poornima. There is a free sample of the chant at the top of this page & a full 20 minute meditation version is available at my BANDCAMP shop. Read on to find out the meaning of the mantra ...
The Om is said to be the root of all sound & by chanting it, we tune into a Universal consciousness. Chandra is often used as a girl's name in India, it is a Sanskrit word meaning 'Shining Moon' & Poornima is the name given to Full Moon Day. We can interpret the chant thus: 'As part of the Universal consciousness, I call upon the shining moon, in her fullness, to .... As women, we are very much guided by the moon & her lunar cycles, particularly in relation to our 'menstrual' cycle. Interestingly, the word menstrual is from the ancient Greek word, meaning MOON ENDING. Ancient languages show us how we have long known how womanhood & the moon are entwined. The moon is a magnet for the Earth's water. Our tides are guided by it & remember, as adults, we are made of more than 50% water, The moon is a poignant & powerful aspect in our meditation for Womanhood. especially in managing our response to hormone imbalance.
