Today, I have been pondering on the similarities between the recordings I collated from the vascular systems of trees at the rainforests of Wales & the whale recordings I have been commissioned to create sound art with, by the science team at the melting ice caps of Antarctica. It seems to me that we have these 2 ancient giants, one of the soil, the other of ocean, both with an eye on humanity. Just as the whale reaches depths that we will never experience, so too, does the tree, right beneath our feet.

Heddiw, dw i wedi bod yn myfyrio ar y tebygrwydd rhwng y recordiadau a gesglais o systemau fasgwlaidd y coed yng nghoedwigoedd glaw Cymru a'r recordiadau o forfilod dwi wedi cael fy nghomisiynu i greu celf sain â nhw gan y tîm gwyddoniaeth yn y capiau iâ sy'n toddi yn Antarctica. Dw i’n credu bod gennym ddau fath o gewri hynafol, un o'r pridd, y llall o'r cefnfor, a'r ddau yn cadw llygad ar y ddynoliaeth. Yn yr un modd ag y mae'r morfil yn plymio i ddyfnderoedd na wnawn ni fyth mo'u profi, mae'r goeden yn gwneud yr un peth hefyd yn union dan ein traed.
