Scientists have proven that chanting for 10 -20 minutes stimulates the Vagus Nerve, which is responsible for the body's sense of well being. Off course, our ancient ancestors have been telling us this for 4000 years ...

Welcome friend, your inner Self has chosen REMOVING OBSTACLES as an area upon which you may wish to meditate. There are usually three reasons why we are drawn to a certain mantra:-
1. Because we feel we are lacking or have struggles with this area of our life. For instance, perhaps you have fallen on hard times & you are struggling to see the good in your life. You may seek physical, spiritual, emotional abundance to ease these times, but something or someone seems to be blocking you, either within you or from outside & you want to clear these obstacles, so that you can move on,
2. Because we are sublimely happy with this part of our life. Perhaps you feel your life is the perfect balance, you recognise how abundant you are on all levels, and you have the life skills to overcome obstacles. Perhaps, you are thinking of sharing these life skills with others & you would like to chant this mantra to open up an intention to do so. Chanting this mantra will clear your thoughts, unearthing new pathways for your joy.
3. And lastly, because we have too much of this in our life & it is causing issues. Perhaps you are so busy looking for obstacles to remove, that you are unable to be accepting. Maybe you or someone close to you has become wasteful or unappreciative of the great abundance life, and this frustrates you. Sink your feet into the soil, the sea or the long grass to ground yourself, remove all obstacles and focus on what really matters to you, deep in your heart & soul.
The chant for Removing Obstacles is Om Eka Thandya Vidmahe . There is a Soundbite Gift of the chant at the top of this page for you to listen to. If you feel that Om Eka Thandya Vidmahe resonates with you, feel free to pop over to my BANDCAMP shop, where you'll find the full length Meditation Version lasting @15 minutes - perfect for embodying a sense of well being. Read on to find out the full meaning of the mantra Om Eka Thandya Vidmahe
This Sanskrit mantra translates as follows:
The Om is said to be the root of all sound & by chanting it, we tune into a Universal consciousness.
Literally, this mantra means: - 'We pray for greater intellect & bow before the one with the single-tusked elephant tooth to illuminate our minds with wisdom.'
When we chant to or for Ganesha, just as with any of the Deities, we are chanting to embody the qualities that it represents, to remove obstacles and make a clear pathway in moving in forward. This mantra works well with the more general Ganesha Mantra that I have included for Abundance, but this one is very much about clearing the pathway for that abundance to come into our lives.
Remember abundance comes in many forms, not just capital. Look at the abundance of water coming from our taps, the food waste mountain from our shops, the piles of old cars at the scrap heap. We live in a culture that seeks a particular type of abundance, beyond need. Sometimes, it can be a good idea to mindfully clear away that which no longer serves us, to appreciate what we have. Namaste, Dear One.
