 CÂN Y COED
SONG OF THE TREES

Inspired by the technology that fuels her hearing aids, Environmental Sound Artist, Cheryl Beer, has notated the inner biorhythmic sounds of trees to compose a Symphonc Sound Sculpture that brings together all 4 pockets of our remaining Celtic rainforests, reuniting them for the first time in thousands of years. If you would like to experience Can Y Coed through light, touch or vibration, please click the link below. Likewise, if you would like to experience this page through the medium Welsh please click Cymraeg.
LET'S GET PHYSICAL - Can Y Coed is a bridge weaving the virtual world into the physical. Stand with the trees themselves while you listen to their notated biorhythms at a QR Coded Sound Sculpture Trail at Coed Llanerch, or visit a QR Coded sapling sextuplet, cultivated from the Rainforests, planted at the Woods of the World Aboretum to celebrate Can Y Coed at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

NOW IT'S YOUR TURN - Scroll down ro create your own Tree-led Sound Sculpture from the notated biorhythms of the Celtic Rainforests of Wales.

YOUR TURN! TRY CHERYL'S INTERACTIVE SOUND SCULPTURE
Cheryl invites you to choose the biorhyhtms that resonate with you & experiment, for you are as much an agent of the earth as the rainforests. Of course, there was a time when the Rainforests of Wales were all united as one beneath the soil, but sadly, they are now under threat from us and the 'advances' of our so called 'modern world'. In reality, all of the rainforest biorhythms are hapening at once, in a rich cacaphony from beneath the soil to the tips of leaves and beyond. If you are interested to dig deeper & meet the trees of Can Y Coed, then simply click the links beneath the speakers.
