One of the more recent scientific findings regarding chanting is that is reduces Anxiety and Depression. On the course, Cheryl will show you how it physically does this because the vagus nerve, responsible for a sense of well being, is stimulated by repetitive singing. You will learn how emotionally. you can set an intention for well being within the chant, and therein, come back to it as a touchstone, throughout your day.
When you start your CHANT Course, very soon you'll find that repetitive singing reduced neurosis because it engages us with the now, enabling us to be present in the now, and less occupied with what might have been or will be.

Chanting is easy and accessible. The course will run inside a private facebook group with video and live sessions with Cheryl. The great thing about chanting is, you don't have top remember lots of words or complex melodies. It's not about singing well or competing with others, it's simply about feeling and connecting to the love in your own voice.

Chanting has a very long spiritual history, particularly from the Vedic texts. The oldest known written Sanskrit mantra is 4000 years old, but is likely mantra was chanted long before this. On the course, you will learn Sanskrit comes from the same Indo-European language seed as Celtic languages, such as Welsh, and given that Cheryl lives on the West Wales coastline, she will tell you about the 4000 year old stone installations scattered in our Welsh hills. Humans have always instinctively known the benefits of chanting to lift & connect with a sense of wholeness & well being, long before the science proved how & why it transforms us on so many levels. So, whether you believe the wisdom of ancient or modern day thought, the same fact remains - To CHANT is to feel well.
Learning to chant on a regular basis, enhances the rhythms of breath that we use. This stimulates the hypothalamus, releasing serotonin the “happiness hormone,” as well as pituitary secretion, enhancing the brain function & boosting our immunity.
Like all singing, chanting regularly reduces the heart rate and exercises the cardio vascular muscle groups, hence, it lowers the risk of heart diseases
Singing has been shown to offer pain relief - not just immediately but even afterwards. It can also service to distract from pain or reduce the need for pain medication & serve as part of pain anagement.
As mentioned earlier, chanting stimulates the vagus nerve, and on the course, you will learn how to maximise the largest nerve of the centtal nervous system, responsible for a sense of well being.
One of the greatest compliments is when chanting sends someone to sleep. Much like a lullaby, to chant is calming, releasing tension and enabling us to step out of fear and into a more positive emotional state. Very often, people have told Cheryl that they play her mantra in bed to help them sleep.
